Pinus mugo 'Carsten' (syn. Pinus mugo 'Carsten’s Wintergold') An exceptional, slow-growing selection of the dwarf mountain pine with a thick, shrubby shape. At the age of 10 reaches approximately 0.5m in height and 0.6m in diameter. The normally green needles turn a bright old gold colour in autumn. This cultivar of dwarf mountain pines has a low soil fertilization requirements .Its resistant to harsh climatic conditions. Prefers location in a full sun. It’s an excellent variety for backyards, rockeries, moorlands and planting in groups or solitary. Looks extraordinary grafted on a trunk.
