Acer palmatum 'Garnet'
|C5||Height : Pa70-90 cm||Width : 30-45 cm|
Acer palmatum 'Garnet' A variety of palm maple with moderate growth force and bushy, sometimes rounded habit. After 10 years it grows up to 1.5 m high and approx. 3 m wide. It blooms in May. The main decoration, however, are deeply cut, jagged leaves: dark purple in spring and summer, and the color changes to intense red in autumn. It prefers fertile, well-drained, moist soils, and sunny or semi-shaded, sheltered positions. Young specimens require winter cover. Recommended for Japanese home gardens, in exposed positions or as an element of colorful compositions on moors.
