Acer palmatum 'Inaba-shidare' A variety of slow-growing palm maple with a bushy, overhanging habit. After 10 years, it grows to approx. 1 m in height and approx. 1.5 m in width. It blooms in May. The main decoration, however, are deeply cut, jagged leaves: purple-red in spring and summer, and intensely red in autumn. It prefers fertile, well-drained, moist soils, and sunny or semi-shaded, sheltered positions. Young specimens require covering for the winter. Recommended for Japanese home gardens, in exposed positions or as an element of colorful compositions, for cultivation in containers.
