Acer palmatum 'Shirazz' (syn. Gwen's Rose Delight) A variety of palm maple with moderate growth and bushy habit. After 10 years it grows to approx. 3 m in height and approx. 2 m in width. Blooms in May, flowers pink and red. The main decoration, however, is the deeply cut leaves: in spring they are purple with a pink border, in summer - green with a pink-cream border, and in autumn they take on intense shades of purple and pink. It prefers fertile, well-drained, moist soils, and sunny or semi-shaded, sheltered positions. Young specimens require winter cover for the winter. Recommended for Japanese home gardens, in exposed positions, or as an element of colorful compositions.
