Magnolia 'Red Baron'
|C12||Height : 200-250 cm|
A variety of magnolia that forms a large shrub or tree with an upright, slender form. Blooms profusely at the turn of April and May, before the leaves develop. Tulip-shaped flowers, giving off a pleasant fragrance. The color of the petals is dark pink on the outside, lightened at the edges, pale pink or white inside. Reaches 4-5 m in height after 10 years. The variety shows very good frost resistance (up to zone 4). It grows best in sunny places, sheltered from the wind. It needs a fertile, moist, humus-rich soil with a slightly acidic reaction. In winter, the root system should be protected by covering. Year-round mulching is beneficial. Recommended for medium-sized home gardens and parks.
