Magnolia 'Simple Pleasures'

A variety of magnolia growing in the form of a low-branched shrub. Growth rate slow. Reaches about 2.5 m in height after 10 years. Blooms profusely at the turn of April and May, before the leaves develop. Tulip-shaped flowers with a delicate fragrance. Lavender-pink color of petals. The variety shows quite good frost resistance (up to zone 5). It grows best in sunny places, sheltered from the wind. It needs a fertile, moist, humus-rich soil with a slightly acidic reaction. In winter, the root system should be protected by covering. Year-round mulching is beneficial. Recommended for medium-sized home gardens and parks.
