C12 | Height : 120-160 cm |
A variety of magnolia that forms a large shrub or a short tree with a narrow columnar shape. Blooms profusely at the turn of April and May, before the leaves develop. Flowers in the shape of a 'cup and saucer', 20 cm in diameter! The color of the petals is intense purple on the outside, pale lilac inside. After 10 years, it is approx. 3.5 m high and 1.2 m wide. A variety has medium frost resistance (up to zone 6). It grows best in places sheltered from the wind, in sunny positions. It needs a fertile, moist, humus-rich soil with a slightly acidic reaction. In winter, the root system should be protected by covering. Recommended for medium-sized or small home gardens.
